General Osteopathy and SPINE CARE

Many pains and problems can be helped using osteopathic techniques and approaches to care.  Osteopaths treat all body areas, not just the spine, and use a highly trained sense of touch and palpation to ensure care is tailored to the needs of your soft tissues, muscles, joints and fascia.  Whether your problem is repetitive strain related, trauma induced, due to wear and tear, or has become chronic and repetitive, osteopathic thinking may well offer something to help.

The Visceral Clinic

Caroline can assess the tissues, muscles and organs in your chest, abdomen and pelvis using her personalised approach to visceral osteopathic assessment and management.  This service operates through the Visceral Clinic within Cheadle Heath Osteopathic Clinic and can include where relevant, an assessment of myofascial components of medically diagnosed (by your medical professional) chronic pelvic pain, in accordance with the European Association of Urology Guidelines. Caroline is experienced in this form of assessment.

Infants, Babies and Children

Osteopaths have a refined approach to the care of infants and children, utilising a gentle range of techniques, including but not limited to cranial work, to help the baby to become more comfortable and function at their best.  Osteopaths are trained to consider how best to utilise their approaches to infants alongside orthodox medical care (if this is needed for your infant). Time is given to understanding your family’s needs.

Pregnancy and Women’s Health

Pregnancy brings it delights but also challenges, and many women suffer pains and problems through pregnancy, as a result of birth, and beyond.  Osteopaths have  caring approaches to think about baby position, pregnancy comfort, care for acute pain and pelvic joint problems, and also pelvic floor care (e.g. muscle spasms) post partum, and restoring body function after birth.  Core strength and pelvic floor exercises may have been part of your medical care plan, but osteopaths additionally consider visceral function as well as a range of myofascial factors for your recovery
